LPM-1707-C Elvis' Golden Records (1958): First edition with fully laminated, side open cover, black RCA logo and "-C" in the
upper right hand box. Please note the PX stamp from July 1958 in the upper left corner on the back of the side open cover.
LPM 1707 Elvis' Golden Records (1958): Ultra rare edition for US staff stationed in West Germany. The record
itself is a regular German first pressing but the label is trying to emulate the US RCA Victor "dog on top" trade-
mark, which was not allowed for RCA to use in Europe, where it belonged to His Master's Voice (HMV).
LPM 1707-C Elvis' Golden Records (1958): First regular German edition with "Long Play", "-C" and lines on label.
LPM-1707-C Elvis' Golden Records (1959): Second edition with front laminated, side open cover, black RCA logo and "-C" in the
upper right hand box. Please note the PX stamp from February 1959 in the upper left corner on the back of the cover.
LPM 1707-C Elvis' Golden Records (1959): Second edition with "Long Play", "-C" and lines on label. Please note that these Army copies,
PX stamped in November 1958 and June 1959, have the LPM 1707-C text and BIEM box on the wrong sides of the label.
LPM-1707-C Elvis' Golden Records (1959): Third edition with front laminated, side open cover, red RCA logo and "-C" in the
upper right hand box. Please note the PX stamp from October 1959 in the upper left corner on the back of the cover.
Earlier 1959 copies are about 180 grams of rigid vinyl, whereas later 1959-60 copies are thinner, about 130 grams.
LPM 1707 Elvis' Golden Records (1960): Fourth edition, non laminated cover with "-C" removed, label with lines
but "Long Play"and "-C" removed. This $2.35 Army copy with PX item number K903861 was stamped in March 1960.
LPM 1707 Elvis' Golden Records (1961-64): Fith to sixth editions with side open cover and "RED SEAL" in upper right hand box.
"Red Seal" meant that the record would have a red or maroon label, which was the case for RCA's classical music albums.
No German pressing has surfaced with red label. The "Red Seal" tag was most likely left there by mistake.
LPM 1707 Elvis' Golden Records (1961-63): Fifth edition with glossy or matte black RCA (s6) label.
LPM 1707 Elvis' Golden Records (1963-64): Sixth edition, first German pressing on the 'RCA Victor' label (v1).
